First day at the site!

Today we spent our first day working on the school! We got to learn several new techniques in building houses.

We got to learn how to put in Windows using a cement/sand mixture, as well as how to put on the same mixture on the walls to smoothen the walls out, this was probably one of the most complicated things we have ever done.

While we were working inside with the windows and walls half the group was working with plowing a small garden for vegetables and fruits. Karin jokingly talked about needing a cow to plow the field and well 30 minutes later four bulls and a plow came into the compound.

Later in the afternoon three small children came up and started to play with some of the students. They all enjoyed a game of tag and taught each other games popular in the different cultures.
